I had the great honor of protecting The Vatican Collection that was at The De Young Museum in the 1980’s. My primary duty to stand aside a short pillar , that held above it Michelangelo’s ” Shepherd of The Lost Sheep ” . I was seeking a good photo of this work when finding your site. I am very pleased to find your site and enjoyed your photos though I cannot understand how you can pay for so much restorative work. I looked at photographs of identified donors, contributors etc and it’s obvious all funds are being spent hiring professional models to stand-in for the actual members. Please dismiss the models and spend the funds on restoration ! Thx, Nick ……..

We recently visited the Vatican Museums and our guide Dr. Alessandro Conforti provided us with an experience we will never forget. His knowledge, professionalism, attention to detail and responsiveness to our needs was superb. Since my wife and I are advocates of life long learning, we felt that we received an entire course in Vatican art history in a few short hours. The time with Alessandro passed so quickly, we hardly realized how much we learned until we had time to reflect. This was our first visit to Rome but based upon our experience with Alessandro we look forward to future visits. I can’t begin to describe my reaction to seeing my favorite fresco ” The School of Athens” in person and the Sistine Chapel brought tears to my wife’s eyes. We both strongly feel that the work of the Patrons to preserve these treasures for posterity is necessary to inspire our common humanity. Thank your Dr. Conforti for opening our minds and hearts to the treasures of the Vatican.

The days we spent with you touring the Vatican art collection changed our lives. Being near the masterpieces and learning about their history and meaning, brought us closer to God. We felt completely present in the experience of touring, praying, participating in Mass. We sensed the yearning that the artists must have had to express in paint what we cannot say in words. Bless you for the work you do and thank you for sharing your insights with us.

Thank you for your kind hospitality in meeting with me at the Vatican Patrons’ Office. The tour given by Ms. Gabriella was phenomenal! I was so happy to visit the Sistine Chapel and the Raphael Rooms with very few people; as well as the famous Nicolino chapel and even a peak at the Rafael Loggia! It was really a memorable last day in Rome!

I write to commend the Patrons team and our excellent guide, and offer my thanks and grattitude for an amazing tour of the Vatican Museums. My wife Paige and I very much appreciated the hospitality, knowledge, spiritual foundation, and just good old-fashioned friendliness offered during our tour this past September. We also really appreciated your staff’s tips on restaurants that are off the tourist path. I look forawrd to sharing the good work of the Patrons and the organization’s efficiency with getting things done.

The McCarthys and the Ritchies were absolutely thrilled with their tour yesterday morning and are sincerely grateful for all that was done to assist them. Ambassador & Mrs McCarthy would particularly like to thank their brilliant guide, Gabriella. Again, sincere thanks on behalf of all of us here at the Australian Embassy to the Holy See.
